Nina Chanel Abney

DR. ROBERT L. BRANDT, JR. GALLERY
T. CHASE HALE AND JONATHAN A. HALE GALLERY

Friday, August 6 through Sunday, October 24, 2021

At the forefront of a generation of artists that are unapologetically revitalizing traditional narrative figurative painting through the lens of contemporary life, New Jersey-based painter, Nina Chanel Abney, draws on animated cartoons, video games, hip-hop culture, celebrity websites, and tabloid magazines to create large-scale paintings and collages that are scathing commentaries on social attitudes and inequities.
