Friends of the Co Recovery Mini-Campaign

Dear friends who love and support art:

The Friends of The Contemporary Dayton Recovery Mini-Campaign is a means for our long-time, and new friends alike, to make a difference NOW in helping us to recover from the losses that are affecting us currently and imminently due to the pandemic. Your donations, of any amount, are fully tax-deductible.*

Make a donation of $25 or more and get a personal shout-out on our Facebook page; $100 or more and receive a personal note from one of our artist members; $500 or more and The Contemporary Dayton Board of Trustees will match your gift. All donors will be listed on our website and receive a confirmation letter of their tax donation.

Your gift to the Recovery Mini-Campaign will help us continue to serve our mission of creating art for the community and a community for artists. With your help, loss of revenue from the postponement of our annual fundraiser, the Art Auction; the cancellation of exhibitions, programs, and events; the potential decrease in membership, gifts, grants, and sales of art; does not have to impact our ability to continue to serve as the community’s art center!

Importantly, while we all share in sacrifice, we are making every effort to continue to pay artists to help them weather the crisis. In order to do this we will have to draw from our reserve funds and, so, any donations we receive will help both The Co. and our family of artists remain viable.

*IMPORTANT: Because of the Federal Stimulus Package, you are able, for 2020, to receive an extra tax deduction on gifts up to $300 if you do not normally itemize your contributions (that is, you do not donate in excess of the standard deduction).

Mail a donation:

Send your check made out to The Contemporary Dayton, with “Recovery Campaign” in the subject line, to 118 N Jefferson St, Dayton, OH 45402

A special note to artist members:

We are hopeful that many of you will be renewing your annual Artist Membership in June in preparation for the Annual Open Members’ Show** (drop-off is June 18 & 20). For every Artist Member renewal that includes a $25 or more donation, I personally will add $10 to your donation in your name. — Eva

**Plans for the Annual Open Members’ Show are still in place; we are hoping to keep drop-off and if we are unable to open the show Jul 10 as normal, we create a virtual exhibition which will be viewable on our website and other platforms.

UPDATE: Nina Chanel Abney's Artist Talk will be livestreamed instead of in-person on Saturday, September 18 at 6 p.m.
